A switchable printing couple particularly suited for use in newspaper and periodical printing is disclosed. A counter pressure cylinder and plate cylinder cooperate to print a moving paper web. An ink fountain, which does not require ink keys, supplies ink to a hard surfaced screen roller. Ink from the screen roller is transferred either directly to an elastic flexographic printing plate or indirectly through ink cylinders to a hard letterpress printing plate. The screen roller which dips into an ink fountain and from which excess ink can be removed by use of a doctor blade, is capable of being engaged with and lifted off the plate cylinder so that the printing couple can be used either in direct printing with an elastic flexographic printing plate or in indirect printing with a hard letterpress printing plate.

The invention relates to the printing industry, in particular to printing machines and magazines.
The purpose of the invention is to expand the technical capabilities of the device by allowing the direct or indirect rolling of the form cylinder.
Figure 1 shows the schematic diagram of the device for indirect staining with a large rolling roller, the diameter of which is equal to the diameter of the plate cylinder; Figure 2 is the same when switching to direct staining; 15 in FIG. 3 is a diagram of the device for indirect printing with two additional rollers; 4 is the same with direct printing with a large net roller for direct contact with the printing cylinder; Figs. 3 and 6 show the proposed device, switched from direct to indirect printing with variable axial distance; 7 - the same, aggregated with 25 I imprinter with indirect i printing.
A device for printing newspapers and magazines contains 1 printing cylinder 2, 30 I cylinder 3, rolling cylinder 4, mounted on the side walls: a colorful reservoir 3 and a roller with a net surface 6, equipped with a helix 7. Rolling the cylinder 4 is provided with a means for its supply and removal 5 relative to the plate cylinder 3, including eccentric rotary sleeves 8. The roller with the mesh surface 6 is equipped with means for the supply and removal relative to the knurling 4 and DO of the plate 3 cylinders, including double eccentric rotary bearings 9. The device works as follows:
at once.
By indirectly painting the printing plate 10 of the plate cylinder 3, the roller with the mesh surface 6 is retracted from the plate cylinder 3. The paint from the plastic tank 5 is fed with nor with the power of the roller 6 directly to the plate 10 of the plate cylinder 3. clamps to cover with a certain stiffness. The blade 7 removes excess paint on the roller 6. When switching from indirect to direct painting, the intermediate Rollers M, 12, and roller 6 replace VA: 1, similar to 1.M roller 6, but with a larger diameter than in the indirect printing position. This diameter is chosen in such a way that, when the roller 11 is withdrawn, the specified roller directly paints the printing plate 10 and the axial distance a between the plate cylinder 3 and the roller 6 can be maintained both in direct and indirect coloring of the form 10.
The web 13 is printed between the plate 3 and the print 2 cylinders. When switching from direct coloration (Fig. 3) to indirect (Fig. 6), the axial distance a does not remain nn1M, but increases. In addition, the device, when switching from direct to indirect coloring, can be equipped with a separator printing device of the classical type, i.e. with a colorful newspaper printing machine. In this case (Fig. 7), the imprinter 14 is aggregated by the printing device 13 and there is a single printing cylinder 2 which will provide printing by one or the other device. This example shows that a flexographic printing assembly without zoning of newspaper strips (zone spirals) for, for example, black printing can be used for color letterpress or offset printing. The imprinter 14 consists of an ink reservoir 16 with zone spirals, a roll 17 of a knurling cylinder 18 and a plate cylinder 19 with a printing form 20.
All cylinders of the device are driven through cylindrical gears with one ring
by speed.
